April 2005: Lift embarks on a new artistic project, conceived as the Lift New Parliament - a flexible, portable meeting and performance space that will allow audiences and artists to come together to explore the local and global issues of our time.

Rooted among London’s most diverse and fastest growing population in east London, the structure will involve a wide range of people in its creation, themes, management, programmes and protocols. Providing a platform for residents in the run up to the Olympics in 2012 and beyond, it will also offer communities facing regeneration a place to explore and celebrate their relationship with their changing surroundings.
